Molly’s looking good ahead of X Factor live

SHE’S made a big impression on the show so far and Molly Scott will be hoping a dramatic new look will help her make even more of an impact when The X Factor live shows get going tonight.

Sixteen-year-old Easington singer Molly is the youngest of Simon Cowell’s Girls category and one of 16 acts left in the running for this year’s crown, having impressed in every stage of the competition so far, particularly at Judges House when she got a huge reaction from people across the world for her cover of BTS’ Fake Love.

As is tradition on The X Factor, all of the contestants have had a bit of a makeover ahead of the first live show and Molly’s blond hair has been dyed grey and made longer thanks to some extensions.

She’s been down in London for well over a week now and told the Chronicle she’s loving every second of the experience; from living in The X Factor house to working with mentor Simon.

“It was so hard to keep quiet about how far I’d got in the competition so it just feels so good now that it’s out there and I can share my excitement with everyone!

“The response I’ve had so far from the public has been amazing and I can’t thank the people of the North East enough for all of their support.

“I’ve had messages from people in Newcastle, Sunderland, Hartlepool; all over really.

“I’m loving being part of the show and working with Simon has been brilliant. On television he’s portrayed as a bit of a bad guy but he’s actually such a genuine man and has given me so much good advice so far.”

One of Simon’s big tasks this week has been to find Molly a song to wow

with in Saturday night’s first live show and while she can’t give any specific details away, the young singer said it’s a good one.

“It’s not massively different from what people have seen me do so far

but to give you a bit of a clue it’s not really a ballad and it’s not really dancey either; it’s kind of in between.”

■ Tune into The X Factor tonight at 8.25pm on ITV.
