Your support is very highly prized

-

OUR charity night last Saturday was a huge success and we are all over the moon with how it turned out. Thank you to everyone who came along.

Another huge thank you goes to each of the businesses and individuals who donated raffle prizes to us. We had an amazing selection of prizes which we wouldn’t have had without your support.

We raised the fantastic and muchneeded amount of £1,419.50 for our animals.

We can’t believe that it’s time for our Halloween party already, which is taking place this Saturday, October 27, from 1.30pm until 3.30pm at our Benton North Farm shelter. We’ve got a few hours full of games planned and there will be prizes to be won.

Our haunted barn will be open for visitors too, if you are brave enough to try it. Bring the kids down. Entry is free and there will be prizes for the best costumes – so get your best spookiness on.

Dare we mention the guy in the hat who visits us in December?

Well, Santa will soon be here and we’re all geared up for the festive period as we have a lot going on, and we will be out in the local area at a lot of Christmas markets – details of which we will release soon. One thing to mention and to be marked down in your diaries is our Christmas market at our Benton North Farm Shelter, which will be on Thursday, November 29, from 4pm until 9pm. We had a fantastic night last year and this year is set to be even better with lots of traders selling all sorts of goodies, and of course we will have hot food and drinks to keep you warm as well as some lovely carol singers bringing festive cheer.

The cold nights are cutting in now and we’re in need of carpet squares to put in our kennels and cat pens to keep our residents warm and cosy. If you have any spare carpet or know of any businesses who may, please get in touch with us on 0191 215 0435. We would also appreciate any monetary donations to help us with heating costs for both shelters as our bills increase a lot of this time of year due to the colder weather. We are extremely grateful for every donation at this time of year, and our residents will be very appreciative of the extra comfort.

ANIMALS FOR HOMES

Archie, cat number 515, is approximately seven years-plus and arrived with us in March this year. He can be wary of humans and is looking for a more independent lifestyle as he doesn’t rely on human contact.

He would love an adult-only home with a warm bed, food to fill his tummy and lots of outdoor space for him to roam around.

Archie loves his independence and being by himself.

Twiglett, cat number 552, is approximately seven and arrived at the shelter in April.

He can be a little shy when first approached but he does come around the more time you spend with him.

He does like to be stroked on the top of his head but only for a short amount of time. Twiglett is looking for an adult-only home with experienced cat owners who will be patient with him while he comes out of his shell.
