Late decider leaves RAOB feeling Down

ASHINGTON RAOB saw their hopes of NFA Sunday Cup glory ended by a 2-1 defeat against Burradon and New Fordley.

The game was a tight encounter but with ten minutes left Fordley hit the winner.

Dale Pearson and Keith Graydon notched for Burra, Kyle Downey for RAOB.

In round two of the SA Randolph Cup, Bedlington Social Club won at home 4-2 against Bubbles Ashington.

Josh Monaghan nabbed two, Joe Moscrop and Roy Patterson with the other goals.

Ben Wackett and David Thompson replied for Bubbles.

Newsham Victory and East Chevington played out a 2-2 draw.

David Lillico netted twice for the Vic, Max Robinson and Kevin Bell for the Chevington side.

Two quarter-finals were played in the Saints Shield, which is for Division One clubs.

The Sun Inn Bedlington reached the semi-finals with an excellent 6-2 victory at home to highly-fancied Cramlingto­n Burton House.

Michael Walton led the scoring for the Sun Inn with a hat-trick. Ryan Crocker notching twice and Jordan Mulldoon completing the scoring.

Michael Jordan and James Thompson replied for House.

Ellington Plough defeated hosts Black Horse 4-1.

Andrew Jenkins netted for the Horse, goals for the Plough from Andrew Allen, Tom Rolt, Michael Scarpa and Ryan Prauschke.

Only one game was played in Division One, Ashington Town Mortimer triumphing 10-0 at home against Cambois Club.

Lee Messenger grabbed seven of the tally, the others from Andrew Bell, Liam Thompson and Lewis Carr.
