WHICH CELEBRITIES EARNED STYLE POINTS THIS WEEK?
NOW here is something you don’t see very often – at least not done deliberately. Julia Roberts and Elizabeth Stewart turned up at this week’s InStyle awards in Hollywood wearing identical looks.
Both actress Julia, who was picking up the night’s Style Icon award and Elizabeth, who was named Stylist of the Year, opted for lilac Givenchy suits teamed with flatform shoes. But it turned out the ‘twinning’ was completely on purpose as Julia later explained to InStyle, saying: “It’s not often we get to go to something together. And I said, you know, because we do look alike, I said, ‘What if we wore, like, a similar outfit? Let’s wear the same thing.’”
Elizabeth called the two-piece ‘the suit of the season’ and who are we to disagree? It is pretty perfect and in keeping with the masculine tailoring that is so on trend right now. Plus, extra points to both women for having fun on the red carpet. We are all for that.
Also ditching the dress for a suit was Olivia Culpo. The American model opted for a double-breasted tweed two-piece by Kate Spade, with cropped trousers. Loving the statement lip there, Olivia.
Kate Spade was a popular choice on the night. The Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco chose a very girlie pink and lilac floral number by the American designer too, and we think the chemistry behind this pairing is bang on.
