Real-life Halloween horror at Tup Tup

Never experience­d anything like it, people dressed in Halloween costumes where there’s been a stabbing

HALLOWEEN fun ended in real life horror as a nightclub reveller suffered a stab wound to his leg.

Police were called to Saint Nicholas Street in Newcastle city centre shortly after 1am yesterday after receiving reports of the incident.

They found a 23-year-old with a stab wound to his leg and he was taken to hosptial.

It is understood the incident happened in The Cut, above

Tup Tup Palace, where fun-lovers were cele- brating the Halloween weekend.

One witness posted on social media: “We were not allowed to leave or use the toilets.

“I’ve never experience­d anything like that, people dressed in Halloween costumes (fake blood, make up bullet holes etc) in a confined area where there’s been a stabbing! “Couldn’t write it! Hope said victim is recovering!”

An investigat­ion is now under way and police are appealing for witnesses. A spokespers­on for Northumbri­a Police said: “At 1.07am today [Monday], police received a report of an assault at a premises on Saint Nicholas Street in Newcastle city centre. “Emergency services attended the scene and found a man with injuries consistent with a stab wound on his leg.

“The 23-year-old was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatenin­g injuries. “Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with informatio­n is asked to contact police on 101 quoting log 41 29/10/18 or Crimestopp­ers anonymousl­y on 0800 555 111.”
