Swal are up to second with victory

THE top-of-the-table clash between Morpeth FC and Swalwell went the way of the visitors, who claimed the points with a 3-2 victory.

Will Pritchard and Jack Phillips netted for Morpeth but Kyle Nelson, Martin Summersett and Gabriel Klempar earned the win for Swalwell.

They climb to second in the table, with Morpeth slipping to fourth.

Ponteland United Reserves moved to the top of the table with a 2-0 success at Chemfica Amateurs, Darren Robinson and Jake Lynch on the scoresheet for Kennie Malia’s side.

Newcastle Benfield Reserves defeated West Jesmond 4-3 in an exciting clash.

Callum Larmouth celebrated a hat-trick in the first half for Benfield, although a brace from Marc Cowley and a Daniel Bland strike made it 3-3 at the interval.

Robbie Clark nabbed the winner after the break for Benfield.

Red House Farm’s upturn in fortunes continued with a 5-0 result at Wallsend Boys Club Developmen­t.

Joe Mack notched twice with Michael Steinmetz, Juan Valbuena and Esteban Lopez completing their tally.

Gosforth Bohemian Reserves came through 3-1 at Wideopen A as Jason Corr, Liam Eltringham and Luke Jordan were on target, Philip Cook countering for Wideopen.
