Magpies show support after Leicester tragedy
NEWCASTLE United players sent messages of condolences to Leicester City and the families affected by Saturday’s tragic helicopter crash.
Foxes owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, two members of his staff, the pilot and a passenger were killed when the aircraft spiralled out of control and crashed in a fireball outside the King Power Stadium.
In his eight years as Leicester owner, Srivaddhanaprabha oversaw unparalleled success. Leicester won promotion to the Premier League, incredibly winning it two years later, before reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League in 2017.
Leicester players led the tributes on Sunday evening and the whole football community have offered their messages of support to the East Midlands side.
After news of Srivaddhanaprabha’s death emerged, Newcastle players took to Twitter to offer their condolences. Forward Ayoze Perez said: “Rest in peace. My thoughts are with the family.”
Jamaal Lascelles tweeted: “Respect and thoughts to the family and friends of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha and everyone at Leicester City.”
Rolando Aarons added: “Thoughts with everyone associated to @LCFC and to the family and friends of this tragedy.”
Salomon Rondon said: “God bless everyone at LCFC and the victims’ families at this very difficult time.”
