BY CAR

A189 Killingworth Road in both directions closed due to major roadworks between West Farm Avenue and Freeman Road.

BY BUS

Killingworth Road, Gosforth, is closed between South Gosforth Roundabout and West Farm Avenue until (approx) summer 2019 to widen the road. Routes 18, 18A, 38, 54, 218, X7, X8 & X63 are diverted via Four Lane Ends.

BY METRO

Until Saturday, November 3, no trains will run between Chichester and South Shields. This is to allow for track and signal upgrades for the new South Shields interchange. Trains will run in the area from Sunday, November 4.

On Sunday, November 4 no trains will run between Pelaw and South Hylton until about 11.30am (depending on location), this is to allow for Network Rail work. A replacement bus number 901 will be running between Heworth and South Hylton in both directions.

Chichester platform 2 will be closed from November 4 until about August 2019, due to signalling constraints in place while building work on the new South Shields interchange takes place.

BY TRAIN

In order to improve reliability, London North Eastern Railway (LNER) will run an amended timetable.

Members of the RMT Union will undertake industrial action on Saturday, November 3 and Saturday, November 10. This will have an impact on Northern services.
