Doctors’ tweets destroy NRA with surgical precision
DOCTORS across America have shared blood-soaked selfies of themselves after the National Rifle Association told them to “stay in their lane” and keep out of the firearms debate.
Medics have been posting pictures of their uniforms, and their operating theatres after the pro-gun group said they shouldn’t involve themselves in discussion over gun control.
“Someone should tell selfimportant anti-gun doctors to stay in their lane,” the Association tweeted.
“Half of the articles in Annals of Internal Medicine are pushing for gun control. Most upsetting, however, the medical community seems to have consulted NO ONE but themselves.”
The post incensed doctors across the States who deal with the aftermath of gun violence that has seen more than 12,000 people killed this year alone.
Respected forensic pathologist, Judy Melinek, who was in New York during the 9/11 terrorist attacks, responded to the post as she made her way to the morgue.
“Do you have any idea how many bullets I pull out of corpses weekly? This isn’t just my lane,” she tweeted Friday. “It’s my f ****** highway.”
