Scotch on the rocks as Oxhill take the honours

DIVISION One champions Consett Scotch Arms lost for the second time in the league when they returned from Oxhill Central pointless.

A double from Matty Allison and a single strike from Jamie Price saw Oxhill fight back from a goal down, courtesy of Scotch’s leading marksman Dan Walker, to secure a 3-1 scoreline.

Aaron Wilkinson scored both goals for South Moor Sports as they defeated Consett Cricketers Ex-Juniors to keep the pressure on at the top.

Tantobie Oak Tree and Winlaton Crown and Cannon shared six goals, Ben Harvey, Scott Wilkinson and Mark Longstfaff netting for Tantobie and Phil Reed, Simon Reed and Matty Grayson on target for Winlaton.

Four goals from Michael Brown maintained Burnopfiel­d Sun Inn’s good run of form in Division Two.

They moved up to third as a result of their 6-0 victory at Stanley Imperial, Steve Dewhurst and an own goal also going in their favour.

Efforts from Connor Burns, Dean Bruce and Evan Goldsborou­gh earned Consett Supa-Snooker victory over Real Vulcan Winlaton in Division Two.

They secured a 3-1 success, Owen Finney hitting a consolatio­n for Winlaton.

Leaders East Stanley WMC stretched their lead at the top of the table as finishes from Jamie Leathard, David Brown, Aaron Richardson and Dan Lowrie secured a 4-1 verdict over Crookhall Beck, who had Jake Taylor on target.

Second-placed West Kyo Earl Grey were held to 2-2 draw with Consett Station WMC as counters from Jake Hall and Jay McGough were cancelled out by a Kegan Thompson double.

Thanks to strikes from Jon Swift and Dan Dobson and an own goal, High Handenhold Bird Inn defeated hosts Shotley Cricketers 3-1.

Stanley RAFA saw off Castleside Horse and Groom 5-3 as Dan Gregg and Jamie Armstrong bagged braces and Jamie Gregg hit one.
