Kenton continue to prove a real Force with three league victories

KENTON Force remain undefeated in the Eagles Community Foundation Central Venue League’s Under-16 Division with a superb 6-0 record.

They moved on to that mark by defeating Ryton Rockets 32-10, South Tyneside 29-16 and North Shields Thunder 26-21.

That was Thunder’s first defeat, which means they are now on 5-1 as their other game saw them edge out Westgate Hoopstars 32-27.

Cramlingto­n Vikings moved onto the same record as Thunder with a 53-7 defeat of Morpeth Magic, an impressive 25-10 victory over Newcastle East Griffins and a 20-11 success over Westgate Hoopstars.

Birtley Phoenix suffered mixed fortunes, going down to South Tyneside 28-23 before bouncing back to defeat Newcastle East Griffins 23-10.

South Tyneside beat Morpeth Magic 27-8 and Westgate Hoopstars overcame Ryton Rockets 30-16. ■■NEWCASTLE East Griffins lead the way at the top of the Under-18 Division table on a 5-1 record after they recorded three wins.

First they claimed a thriller 33-32 over North Shields Jets, then comfortabl­y saw off Kenton Force 45-32 and finally accounted for Westgate Hoopstars 30-24.

Their closest rivals are Westgate Hoopstars Black, who have only lost one game as well but are one win and match behind with four victories.

They defeated Birtley Phoenix 39-21 and North Shields Jets 60-38.

Walbottle Wizards are second, moving to 4-2 after beating Westgate Hoopstars 34-23, Morpeth Magic 23-6 and Birtley Phoenix 35-20.
