POEM OF THE DAY

The Line

-

£40 per year for garden waste collections?

Our Liberal Democrat councillors don’t believe that the council budget plans pay attention to local priorities; sadly, there is little indication that the Labour-run council is responding to such concerns. DEBORAH BURNS,

Gosforth For each and every minute someone leaves this world behind. Without a moment’s prior knowledge, of where they’re standing in the line.

For in this queue there are no clues to how long we must wait.

We can’t move backwards in this line, that is all left up to fate.

The line cannot be avoided we can’t step out when we choose. So as we wait in line there’s things that we should strive to do. Things that could make a difference, and there’s really quite a few. Make priorities, make moments count, make other people smile. Make a change, make love, make up, and try to go that extra mile.

Try picking up the phone to talk when someone is alone.

Make peace, tell others they are loved, make all your gifts be known. Make sure you’re ready for the task, and that your regrets are few. Make no ones feel like someones , give out credit where it’s due.

If you make your daily aim, to help someone and to be kind. Your stay here will be a good one, and pray long your queue shall wind.
