A Barn-storming success as Mill hit eight goals

BLACKHALL Mill and Chopwell romped to an 8-1 over Consett The Barn in Division One.

Carl Smith (3) Aaron Fletcher, Keiran Russell, Keith Main, James Watson and Dean Hendry scored for the Mill, Zak Atkinson with the Barn’s sole response.

In Division Two, Consett Station were 4-1 winners against Stanley Imperial thanks to strikes from Andy Turnbull, Mark Coates, Damon Freeman and Paul James, Chris Philips replying for Imperial.

Winlaton Crown and Cannon progressed in the Harkness Trophy by seeing off Tantobie Oak Tree 4-2, David Dodds (2) Phil Reed and James Innes on the mark.

Consett Scotch Arms triumphed 7-0 at Lanchester CC thanks to goals from Andrew Rennoldson (3), Dan Walker (2), Joe Johnson and Sean Wilson

In the Iveson Bowl, West Kyo Earl Grey were 8-0 victors against Stanley RAFA courtesy of strikes from Jack Watson (5), Jason Hern (2) and Matty Hunt.

Burnopfield Sun Inn were also emphatic winners - 5-0 at Consett Supa Snooker with Steven Dewhurst (2), Jack Self, Michael Brown and Alex Britton notching.

In the North West Durham Charity Cup, East Stanley WMC defeated Crookhall Beck 7-0 and Oxhill Central triumphed 6-2 at South Moor Sports.

Saltwell Social Club beat Handenhold Bird Inn 5-1 while Waldridge conceded their tie against Consett Top Club.
