STARS from the athletic world were out in force this week for the Sports Personality of the Year Awards, in Birmingham.

And while the ceremony was about celebrating this year’s biggest sporting achievements, it was impossible to miss some of the glamorous red carpet looks.

Paralympian and Strictly Come Dancing star Lauren Steadman led the way in an all-black ensemble made up of a net high-neck top and a pleated floor-length satin skirt.

The 25-year-old’s custom-made outfit was from British designer Rene K. She teamed it with a curly updo, sultry dark eyeliner and a nude lip.

Rebecca Adlington, 29, opted for a colour block look, matching a pair of red flared trousers with a plunging loose-fitted blouse and tailored blazer.

The two-time Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer completed her outfit with gold accessories and crimson lipstick.

Olympic runner Paula Radcliffe, 45, stunned in a floor-sweeping fitted black gown which hugged her in all the right places. In a nod to the festive season, the asymmetrical dress had a metallic gold top which perfectly complemented her sun-kissed glow.

The fastest female marathon runner of all time wore her blonde locks in tousled waves and accessorised with a simple pair of studded earrings, some dainty gold jewellery and a leather-strap watch.

These sporting legends certainly didn’t score any own goals.
