Attack all the way for Town and Red Star

- By MARK CARRUTHERS

HEBBURN Town manager Scott Oliver is expecting a tough night for defences when his side travel to Seaham Red Star tonight.

The Hornets go into the game on the back of a thrilling 4-3 win at struggling Penrith, while their hosts are hoping to build on last weekend’s five-goal hammering of Whitley Bay.

Oliver said: “We look good going forward and are creating chance after chance. With the attackminded players we have we are never going to keep many clean sheets and it is something I may have to accept.”

Oliver can call upon the services of experienced strikers Paul Chow and Graeme Armstrong after they missed last weekend’s trip to Penrith.

Red Star manager Mark Collingwood is boosted by the news that he has a fully-fit and available squad for the first time this season.

Division One leaders Dunston UTS are without the suspended Jake Stafford for their home game against third-placed Bishop Auckland. The visitors could hand another start to former Blyth Spartans striker Ash Davis after he made his debut in last weekend’s win at Whickham.

Midfielder Dan Hawkins continues his comeback from a serious knee injury when he takes his place in the Consett squad for their home game against bottom of the table Penrith.

In-form Newcastle Benfield are without injured trio Dennis Knight, Joe Robson and Richie Slaughter as they look to stretch their unbeaten run to 14 games with a win at Guisborough Town.

North Shields will honour longserving captain Kevin Hughes when they host Whickham at the Daren Persson Stadium.

Hughes made his 300th appearance for the club in their recent win at Whitley Bay.

Kyle Downey, Liam Armstrong and Jay Hornsby have been ruled out of Ashington’s trip to Stockton Town and a one-match suspension means that Adam Redford will miss Whitley Bay’s home game with Newton Aycliffe.

The Division Two weekend kicks off tonight with Billingham Synthonia’s visit to Redcar Athletic.

Leaders Billingham Town will be looking to make it 23 league games unbeaten when they travel to fourth-placed Chester-le-Street Town.
