THRILLER, based on a true story. Art student Spencer Reinhard (Barry Keoghan) takes a tour of the special collections section of his university’s library, and conceives a plan to steal several rare editions with athletics scholarship student Warren Lipka (Evan Peters). Spencer and Warren realise they need additional manpower and involve two friends – Erik Borsuk (Jared Abrahamson) and Chas Allen (Blake Jenner) – as a lookout inside the library and a getaway driver. Their best-laid preparations falter and fraternal bonds buckle under the strain of a police investigation.

THE NUN (15) ★★★★★
CREAKY supernatural horror, which traces the origins of the hell-bound harpy in a habit from 2016’s The Conjuring 2. Sister Victoria (Charlotte Hope) is part of a cloistered order of nuns at the Abbey of St Carta in Romania. She takes her own life after an ancient malevolent force (Bonnie Aarons), infects the holy ground. Priest Father Burke (Demian Bichir) has a remit to investigate “unusual phenomena associated with Catholicism” and he travels to London to convene with Sister Irene (Taissa Farmiga), who will assist his inquiries. The pair head to eastern Europe and Father Burke unearths dark secrets.

THE MISEDUCATION OF CAMERON POST (15) ★★★★★
SENSITIVELY observed drama. Cameron Post (Chloe Grace Moretz) prepares to attend a high school dance with her date Jamie (Dalton Harrod) but she would rather be partying with female friend Coley (Quinn Shephard). The girls are discovered in a passionate embrace, forcing Cameron’s religious guardian Ruth (Kerry Butler) to pursue a radical course of action. She sends Cameron to a conversion centre overseen by Dr Lydia March (Jennifer Ehle), who claims her practices help teens rediscover the path to heterosexuality. As Cameron’s treatment unfolds, she openly questions the programme.
