The OSCA winners
NORTHUMBERLAND Cricket Board presented awards to the county winners of the ECB NatWest Outstanding Service to Cricket Awards (OSCAs).
The OSCAs are aimed at recognising those volunteers in the recreational game of cricket who give so much of their time to the sport.
Ian Wardle of the NCB said: “The awards provide an ideal opportunity to say thank you to our volunteers for their incredible work and celebrate their success with them.”
There were 10 individual award winners, the first being Janet Cook of Newcastle Cricket Club in the Behind the Scenes category.
Blyth Cricket Club’s Surj Singh triumphed in the All Stars Cricket section and Adam Mooney of Backworth CC won the Young Volunteer category.
The Officials Award went to Ian Beever of Tynemouth Cricket Club and the NatWest Cricketforce honour to Malcolm Alderson of Seaton Burn CC.
John Grey (Wooler Cricket Club) lifted the Lifetime Award and the League Award was given to Steve Hall of the Northumberland and Tyneside Cricket League.
Cramlington CC’s Steve Parker was honoured in the Behind the Scenes section.
Louise Shaw of Morpeth CC and Lee Driver of Alnwick CC picked up the Women’s Softball Awards.
OSCA Award winners not able to attend the presentation night were Callum Lawn of Morpeth Cricket Club (Young Volunteer), Daniel Craigie of Corbridge CC (Young Volunteer) and Richie Gledson of Stamfordham CC (NatWest Cricketforce).
