Three teams in Cup’s last four is no Minor achievemen­t for league

THE league will have three clubs in the semi-finals of the NFA Sunday Minor Cup.

Westfield Social defeated fellow league opponents Daisy Hill East End 3-1.

Vallum United were 4-1 winners over High Street Blyth, Wallsend Labour having previously won 2-0 against Seaton Sluice.

Only two games were played in the Premier Division.

Wallsend Labour triumphed 3-1 at Hillheads and Roof Top drew 3-3 with Greenside, Lewis Teasdale scoring twice.

In B Division, High Howdon Social defeated Butchers Arms 3-1 and AD Victoriam drew 2-2 at Heaton Meadowfiel­d - Jack Walker with both of Victoriam’s goals.

Fawdon Park won 2-0 at West Denton Social and The Fosse were 8-2 home victors over the Jubilee.

Blakelaw Social remain undefeated in C Division, Liam Bennet claiming the only counter in their 1-0 defeat of Fox and Hounds.

Scotswood Social triumphed 6-1 at Balloon, Christophe­r Hudson hitting a hat-trick for the victors.

Dan Fullen also bagged a treble for Marlboroug­h Social in their 5-4 success over the Alexandra - Kennic Malic scoring twice for the Alexandra.

The Old Post office were 4-0 home winners over Rosehill Tavern, Suane Jones on the mark twice.

Barking Dog drew 2-2 with FRG, John Grundy and Tom Hague both nabbing braces.
