It’s getting cold in here...

-

THOUSANDS of people have been getting cosy by the fire at Hadrian’s Tipi over the festive period, but the temperature will soon drop dramatically at Stack in Newcastle, with the opening of an Ice Bar.

The Tipi has been open right at the centre of the Pilgrim Street shipping container development since October, with plenty of takers for mulled wine and sets from DJs and local musicians.

And there have also been a number of events held there, including a fashion show, wedding showcase and, of course, a few Christmas parties.

Neill Winch, CEO for Danieli Holdings, said: “We have been delighted to have welcomed so many people to the tipi over its 15-week run in the city. Hadrian’s Tipi has a loyal customer base and it’s clear that the people of Newcastle and the surrounding areas have enjoyed being part of this event.”

The fire will go out on Hadrian’s Tipi run at Stack tomorrow to make way for the sub-zero Ice Bar, which is being brought to Newcastle in conjunction with Lone Wolf spirits.

A huge first for the North East, for three months guests can expect a sub-zero ice adventure with some spectacular ice sculptures, sculpted by the company that brought you the Game of Thrones Ice Throne for HBO. Sculptures include a lifesized skier and snow mobile.

The aptly named Lone Wolf Ice Bar is set to open on Friday, January 25.

Unlike the Tipi and the Enchanted Garden before it, entry into the bar won’t be free, starting from £12.

A variety of packages available with drinks included in the price, one of which will be served in a real ice shot glass. All guests will be given a jacket and gloves for the duration of their visit.

They will be given a shot of Lonewolf vodka or a non-alcoholic alternative if under 18 when in the ice bar and a hot chocolate each once they leave.
