PROBABLY not one for the prudish, this sexually-charged sitcom follows the woes of socially-awkward high school student Otis. But it’s worth a watch to see X Files star Gillian Anderson playing sex therapist Jean, complete with platinum blonde hairdo and a series of great outfits.
Jean is Otis’s mother, which means the poor boy is surrounded by manuals, videos and tediously open conversations about sex. Otis (Asa Butterfield) has become a reluctant expert on the subject, despite never having had sex.
When his home life is revealed at school – in all its embarrassing glory, Otis realises he can use his specialist knowledge to gain status. He teams up with bad girl Maeve (Emma Mackey) and together they set up an underground sex therapy clinic to deal with fellow students’ weird and wonderful problems.
A gross yet charming teen sex comedy.
