CALLS made from prison by one of six men accused of firearms offences were revealed to jurors in the alleged gang feud shooting trial.

Bailey Wilson is one of six men accused of conspiring to endanger life by shooting at the window of a house in Brunswick, Newcastle.

After he was charged and remanded in custody, a series of phone calls made from HMP Durham were recorded by police intelligence officers at the jail.

Jurors were provided with extracts of some of the conversations, which revealed Wilson was asking a woman to provide him with information about arrests in the case from a Chronicle report.

He also said rival Paul Scott was in the same prison and talked of snapping his toilet brush or a pool cue to attack him with, while a man on the outside suggested arming himself with tins of tuna down his socks.

In a call made from Wilson on February 13 last year at 6.30pm, Wilson speaks to a man and it is suggested that Scott is spreading rumours about Wilson and that other prisoners are saying Scott wants to harm him.

In another call the next day, Wilson complains that Scott is shouting about him.

A woman then tells him: “You’ve done f*** all, like, you’ve done nowt wrong.”

Wilson: “I na.”

The woman says: “Taking the f ****** blame for the gangsters and all that. It’s the gangsters that should be locked up.” Wilson: “You f***, I na man.” Woman: “You’re down at the bottom of the food chain, you, man. They want the big f ****** guns, son.” Wilson: “I na.”

Woman: “You shouldn’t be there man, you know what it is, they’re taking you as a f ****** fall guy man, the f ****** b ******* .”

Wilson: “I na.”

Wilson speaks to another woman and says: “Aye so they must have all been nicked, eh”.

She replies: “I’ve just been reading it on ChronicleLive. It’s saying four people have been arrested.” Wilson: “What the f*** they done, like?” Woman: “It’s linked with the shooting or whatever but they were like four people have been nicked... there was armed response that’s locked them up so, something like that.”

In another call, at 8.32am on February 14, a woman tells Wilson: “Aye, they have definitely been nicked.” Wilson: “For what?”

Woman: “Well thingy.” Wilson: “They’ve been caught with a firearm?”

Woman: “No, not like that, Darren’s been in for assisting an offender.” Wilson: “Who?”

Woman: “It’s obviously Biff isn’t it.” Bailey Wilson

I’m going to snap the pool cue and stab him with it
