Singing workers taking to stage to support colleague

-

SEVEN paint company workers are about to have a brush with stardom in a bid to raise cash for charity.

The workmates from AkzoNobel in Felling will take to the stage at a musical night they are organising to support the North Tyneside Group of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Jim Crossley, Graeme Dunford, Mark Cracknell, John Barkas, Trevor Ridley, Phil Scott and Trevor Bruce, who all live in North and South Tyneside, came up with the idea after a former colleague was diagnosed with the illness, and will all star in the show at Pelaw social club on March 23.

John, from South Shields, said: “A lad we used to work with was diagnosed with MS and is involved in the charity.

“We wanted to think of a way to offer our support.”
