Three arrests after possible Fell assault

THREE men have been arrested and an investigat­ion has been launched following a suspected assault in Gateshead.

Northumbri­a Police were called to Barford Court, Low Fell, shortly after midnight on Sunday.

Two men were taken to hospital with non-life-threatenin­g injuries.

Inquiries led officers to a second address on the street yesterday, where three men were found.

Two of the trio had also suffered non-life-threatenin­g injuries and were taken to hospital.

An air ambulance was dispatched to the area to a report of an assault just before 9.30am.

A Great North Air Ambulance Service spokespers­on confirmed one person was treated for injuries, but was not airlifted to hospital.

Northumbri­a Police is working to establish how the men came to be injured.

All three men at the second address have since been arrested and remain in police custody.
