Three arrests after possible Fell assault

THREE men have been arrested and an investigation has been launched following a suspected assault in Gateshead.

Northumbria Police were called to Barford Court, Low Fell, shortly after midnight on Sunday.

Two men were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Inquiries led officers to a second address on the street yesterday, where three men were found.

Two of the trio had also suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to hospital.

An air ambulance was dispatched to the area to a report of an assault just before 9.30am.

A Great North Air Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed one person was treated for injuries, but was not airlifted to hospital.

Northumbria Police is working to establish how the men came to be injured.

All three men at the second address have since been arrested and remain in police custody.
