Sporting’s success proves to be real top result

A 4-3 win for Whitley Sporting meant the see-saw battle for the title swung back in their favour.

They returned to the top with previous leaders Rothbury being without a game.

Seven were also netted at Stobswood as they defeated visitors Cramlingto­n Town 5-2, Jake Baker notching a second-half brace for the vistors.

Whitburn and Cleadon defeated Seaton Sluice 4-2. Joe Warren grabbed a double in the second half for the South Tynesiders, Callum Morgan doing the same for Sluice. Walker notched what proved the winner for Burradon against Jesmond as they prevailed 2-1.

Coundon drew 1-1 with Ellington, Hardy and Gall with the counters.
