Place in Randolph final is extra special for Social

BEDLINGTON Social Club United needed extra time to see off Ashington RAOB 2-1 and reach the final of the SA Randolph Cup.

Damien Stevens scored for the Buffs, Joe Bolam and Liam Candlish for Social Club.

Bedlington now await the winners of Newsham Victory-Newbiggin New Ship to see who they will face in the final on March 31.

In round one of the Eric Anderson Cup, Ashington Town Central triumphed 3-2 at home against Blyth Town Sunday. On target for the Central were Michael Todd (2) and Scott Neal, Daniel Carr and Gavin Agnew replying for Blyth Town.

Newbiggin New Ship sailed to a 2-1 success against East Chevington – on target were Joe Henderson for Chevington and Liam Halliday and Colin McClellend for the Ship.

Newsham Victory made the JD Marnock Cup’s last four thanks to a 5-0 win against Bubbles Ashington.

Leading the scoring for the Newsham Victory was David Lillico with a hat-trick.

Dean Linney and Ryan Waite added the other counters.

In Division One, Ellington Plough came back from 3-0 down to overcome Cambois Club 5-4.

Goals for the Plough came courtesy of Michael Scarpa (2), Mathew Turner, Kieran Atkinson and Bryan Atkinson, for Cambois Jordan Streener (2), Ryan Clark and Connor Willis.
