BEST OF THE REST
FRED AND ROSE WEST
ITV 9pm
FINALLY on our screens after a delay for legal reasons, this gritty documentary promises an insight into two of the most notorious criminals in British history.
The nation was horrified when in 1994 it was discovered that Fred and Rose West had killed 12 young women and girls between 1967 and 1987 and buried the remains of nine of them under their home at Cromwell Street in Gloucester.
Now, a quarter of a century on, this exclusive TV investigation with Sir Trevor McDonald promises to shed light on the case dubbed the House of Horrors.
Contributors include former Cromwell Street lodger Jayne Hamer who speaks of hearing screams from the cellar and sisters of 18-year-old victim Juanita Mott.
TV bosses have also teased “a powerful exclusive interview with a West family member who has never spoken before on camera.”
And we’ve been promised evidence that Rose West was the driving force behind these terrible crimes.

HOW fortunate that just as Catastrophe ends, here is another edgy comedy for us to fall in love with.
Full of laugh-out-loud moments as well as drama with a delightfully dark undertone, this series centres on an American PR executive living in London.
True Blood star Anna Paquin plays Robyn, the best PR at her firm, who constantly has to clear up the monumental messes caused by her selfish clients.
It starts with a brilliant scene as Robyn, with super-efficiency, gets her A-list footballer client out of a rather dodgy situation in his hotel room.
Later she helps a celebrity chef (guest star Max Beesley) who needs to avoid headlines that he’s cheated on his wife.
Meanwhile, we learn that Robyn’s personal life is also an utter mess.
Watch out for a stellar supporting cast including Lydia Wilson as her snarky colleague, Rebecca Benson as a timid intern, and playing her boss, Sophie Okonedo as you’ve never seen her before.
