DRESSED to impress
WHICH CELEBRITIES EARNED STYLE POINTS THIS WEEK?
THE glitzy ceremony that is the Writers Guild Awards took place last weekend, and this year it was held simultaneously in LA and New York.
Although it’s reserved for the writers behind Hollywood’s biggest movies, notable actors and actresses were in attendance too.
It was hard not to notice some of the dazzling fashion choices on the red carpet, with classic black silhouettes reigning supreme.
Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn looked sensational in a figurehugging floor-length gown. The dress had an asymmetric neckline giving it a modern twist whilst showcasing her delicate decolletage perfectly. Gillian, 47, kept her accessories simple with droplet earrings, a bracelet, a black clutch and stiletto-heeled courts.
Meanwhile, former Sopranos actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler sparkled in a black and gold dress with cut-out detailing around the midriff. The frock featured sequins from the neckline all the way down to the hemline, so it elegantly glittered as she made her way across the red carpet. Jamie-Lynn, a mother of two, swept her dark tresses to one side, and wore smouldering black eyeliner for a sleek cat-eye look.
British actress Emily Blunt rocked a striking tuxedo with an elaborate, oversized black bow tie. The Dolce and Gabbana suit featured lace detailing on the jacket, while the trousers were structured, but not too fitted. Emily, 35, accessorised with a sizeable ring on her index finger and an ‘undone’ bun hairstyle, with wisps of her blonde locks framing the sides of her face.
She looked worlds away from her Mary Poppins Returns character, but even
Julie Andrews would agree that she looked supercalifragilistic expialidocious.
