Some dates for your diary

-

OUR diary is starting to get very busy, so we thought we’d start this week with some dates for your diary. On Tuesday, March 19, we will be holding our first ever coffee morning at West Moor Community Centre to help raise funds for our furry friends.

There will be cakes, scones, tea, coffee, sandwiches and more. A few of our furry friends will even pop along for you to meet. We’d love to see you there. All ages welcome.

Easter will soon be upon us and this year we’ll be have a Hoppin’ Good Time (see what we did there?) Easter event on Sunday, April 7, from 1-5pm. There will be games, crafts, raffles, egg trail, face painting and more. We will even be giving everyone a chance to meet some of our bunnies. This is a free event that will be happening at our Benton North Farm site, Benton Lane, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE12 8EH.

We must mention our Funday too, which is taking place at our Benton site on Monday, May 6, 12.30pm to 3.30pm. It is our first event of the year where you can bring your dogs along too – so for the whole family.

Stalls will sell things from cheese to homemade dog treats, candles, wax melts, bath bombs, liqueur and much more. We will even have the amazing Paul Slattery, so you will be able to get some caricatures done.

There will be rides for the kids and a bouncy castle plus food to fill your tummies. Entertainment will be provided by some of the amazing dance groups from around the community. It will be a fun-filled day that we hope to see you all at. Entry is £1 for adults but kids and dogs go free.

Animals for homes Vinnie, dog number 534, is three to four years old and arrived with us in January 2019. Vinnie is extremely happy to see people and he will show you this by being vocal and jumping up for cuddles.

He is looking for a lively home that can further his training and help burn off energy. He is a very lovely boy looking for an adult-only home without cats or small animals, preferably with owners who have experience of Staffordshire Bull Terriers.

Tiera, cat number 482, is three to five years old and she arrived with us in February. Tiera is a shy girl; however she has a curious side to her so she will get up out of her bed to watch what you are doing.

She is looking for a quiet and loving home to help build up her confidence and encourage her to come out of her shell. We believe that her confidence has the potential to build with a little time.
