Thoughts turn to a summer of fundraising

-

HAPPY March! It’s officially springtime now ,right? It’s hard to imagine that this time last year we were all snowed in as the Beast From The East caused chaos across our region.

Looking out of my window now and seeing buds on the trees and the first sign of daffodils (Well, the ones who haven’t taken a beating from a football yet), 2018’s snow seems a million years ago!

With the recent warm weather, it’s hard not to feel excited about summer and here at the Sunshine Fund, planning is well underway for our summer Go Bananas campaign.

Those of you who have supported the campaign previously will know its your chance to get involved and make a real difference in the lives of disabled children in the region.

Whether you take part in our 5k Sunshine Run on Newcastle’s iconic Quayside, get your workplace involved by going all-out yellow for the day (custard fight, anyone?), make a direct donation to the appeal or support one of our organised collections, every penny raised makes a difference.

This year we kick off the Go Bananas campaign with a skydive on June and you can read more about the teams taking part in future editions. If you would like to join us we have now put on an extra session as demand was so high and places were just flying out (excuse the puns).

Please keep your eye on our social media pages for more information, launch dates and ways to get in touch if you have a fundraising idea. We love to hear from you!

Speaking of social media, are you following our pages on Facebook and Twitter? We want to use social media to reach more supporters and families than ever before and you can help by sharing our pages with your friends, your colleagues at work or even simply by liking our posts.

Our social media pages are also the best way to find out about up-andcoming events, grab a place on one of our fundraisers, read our case studies and find out about the work the Sunshine Fund does in your region.
