ANOTHER brace by striker Ellen Turnbull gave Wallsend BCL a 2-0 home victory against Redcar Town.

The former Newcastle striker, who scored twice at Ossett last week, netted twice in the first half.

There was a surprise result for Hartlepool United, who lost 3-2 at Farsley Celtic.

Robyn Foster gave Pools a secondminu­te lead but Farsley equalised almost immediatel­y through Aaliyah Allen.

Shirley Murphy put Farsley 2-1 ahead on 25 minutes but Foster, with her second, brought the scores level seven minutes later.

What proved to be the winning goal came on 51 minutes when Charlotte Adams punished poor defending.

In the Northern Division, title favourites Sunderland West End coasted to a 8-0 success at home against Chester-le-Street Town Developmen­t.

Emma Banks and Nicole O’Hara bagged braces, Toni Deacon, Francesca Ness, Costandina Panayi and Melissa Simpson also scoring.

Prudhoe Town won convincing­ly 4-0 at home against Consett.

Samantha Garcia notched after 12 minutes, Sophie Rodgers netting 12 minutes later.

Twelve minutes into the second half Terri Nielsen put Prudhoe 3-0 up, then 12 minutes later Zareana Slater secured Prudhoe’s first victory of the season.

Alnwick Town began their league campaign with a 2-1 victory at home against Lumley.

Two former Prudhoe players combined for the early opening goal as Catherine Johnston crossed for Emily Henderson to head home.

Caitlin Black soon made it 2-0 but Lumley halved the deficit after 25 minutes - Sarah Hutchieson scoring from the rebound after her effort had struck the bar.

Blyth Town won 3-2 at Norton and Stockton Ancients Reserves.

Sacha Millward and Taylor Hebb netted for the Teessiders, Demi Taylor, Rebecca Henry and Laura Dodds for the Town.
