Goal rush at top of table

-

IT WAS as you were after this week’s results, with the top four all winning.

North Shields Community Christians went to YAV SIFF Sunderland and Amin Kashy sent them on their way after two minutes.

Lamine Diaby equalised on 15 minutes for YAV but North Shields then took over to lead 2-1 at half-time and finish 8-1 winners as Rob Watson and Adrian Wood scored twice, with other goals from Todd Clarkson, John Oliver and an own goal.

Hillsong Newcastle had a tougher game on Teesside at Jubilee Church. Michael Lawrence put Hillsong in front only for Hassan Mtambo to equalise, but Jamie Walker took Hillsong into the break 2-1 up.

Lewis Wood then scored a goal at each end, Jaber Nabizadeh squared the match at 3-3, and in the 89th minute Reece Hindley got the winner for Hillsong Newcastle, keeping them in second place.

Stockton Churches Portrack, the only team out of the top four to play at home, faced Jesmond Parish Church. Alex Fawcett scored the only goal in the first half, before Lee Hoggarth then scored twice and Cameron Green gave Stockton Churches Portrack a 4-0 lead. Jesmond Parish Church scored a consolation goal.

In fourth place, Stockton Salvation Army were down 1-0 down after 11 minutes at Heaton Saints. They turned this into a 3-1 lead at the break. Heaton Saints then turned the match within 25 minutes of the second half to lead 4-3. In the last ten minutes McLay got his second of the game and the winner as Stockton Salvation Army won 5-4.

The only team to make any ground were Saint Charles RC Church away at Blyth Family Church.

After three minutes Carl PhilipsDixon gave Blyth the lead, but within ten minutes Jonny Wilson had equalised. Two goals in two minutes from Tom Spencer and a goal from David Healey put Saint Charles 4-1 in front at half-time.

Jonny Wilson got his second before Joey Bugress made it 6-1.

From a corner the ball was bouncing like a table tennis ball before PhilipsDixon fired home his second goal to seal a 6-2 victory.

Saint John’s Snod’s Edge went behind to a Lee Anderson goal for Sunderland Samba, and then 2-0 down after Jeffrey German scored.

Chris Shield got a goal back on the stroke of half-time before Lee Anderson got another two goals for his hattrick to give Sunderland Samba a 4-1 lead.

Shield then got his second, but Ross Wilson scored a double for Saint John’s – his second goal coming in the 90th minute to salvage a dramatic 4-4 draw.
