Admirable in Crichton

BURRADON and New Fordley retained the David Crichton Cup with a 2-0 victory over East Chevington SS at Ashington Community FC.
A closely-fought game was all square at the break but Burradon finally went ahead on the hour through Ian Lee.
They eventually put the game to bed when substitute Danny Sayer raced clear to slide the ball past the Chevington goalkeeper.
The league had two sides in the first round of the NFA Sunday Cup.
Blyth Town Sunday went down 13-0 to an excellent Blucher Blue Star but Ashington RAOB fared much better – winning at Westfield Social.
Goals for the Buffs came from Kyle Downey, Michael Adamson and Chad Miller.
In the Premier Division, Bedlington Social Club United triumphed 4-3 at home against Newsham Victory.
Joe Moscrop (2), Stephen Lucas and an own goal made up Victory’s tally, Regan Pegg, David Lillico and Jamie Harrison replying.
West Allotment continued their unbeaten run in Division One with a 6-0 victory against Bedlington Breakers.
Ryan Thompson hit a hat-trick, West’s other counters from Ryan Walton, Kevin Gainsborough and Gary Stanners.
Ellington Plough won 10-1 against Bubbles Ashington. Notching two goals each for the Plough were Tom Rolt, Bryan Atkinson and Ryan Bunting.
Also on target were Andy Allen, John Summers, Ally McLean and Jack Anderson. Keith Smith netted for Bubbles.
