Into the woods for new crime drama
ANOTHER day, another murderous thriller. But this latest crime drama links back to a cold case from the 1980s that has an eerie Stranger Things feel about it.
It’s the summer of 2006 and Rob Reilly (Killian Scott) and his cop partner Cassie (Sarah Greene) are sent to investigate a child’s murder.
In the woods, on an altar, the dead body of local teenage girl Katy Devlin is curled up as if she were asleep. But while all this is going on, we keep getting frightening flashbacks to three kids cycling and running through the forest.
We later find out that it was August, 1985, when three children from the same estate as Katy vanished, with only one coming out alive.
Back in 2006 and there’s a lot going on with red herrings flying about everywhere.
Katy had been found in the middle of an archaeological site that was under threat of being bulldozed for a new motorway.
Katy’s family are very strange, with something not quite right there. The estate where she lived, Knocknaree in Ireland, has been blighted by poverty and unemployment.
There’s a homeless man who wants to spread his message about stopping the motorway.
Rob has a big secret to hide, and he and Cassie obviously have a deeper relationship than just work pals.
Everyone, including local residents, Dublin Police and the press, are concerned that Katy’s murder is linked to the case of 1985. So out come the dusty old files – but is there a connection? You’ll want to find out…
