BEST OF THE REST
SNACKMASTERS
Channel 4, 9.15pm
IMAGINE if you knew how to make a Burger King Whopper and fries? You’d need never go to a drive-thru again.
This is the show that sees Fred Sirieix challenge top chefs to recreate famous snacks. Although I’d say the Whopper is more than a snack.
In this episode, it’s two-Michelinstarred chef Claude Bosi and Michelinstarred chef Lisa Goodwin-Allen who have to work out the secret techniques and ingredients of this famous fast food.
From the flame-grilled burger, to the bun, fries and all-important dressings, there’s plenty that could go wrong.
In an extra challenge, they must also go head to head in a Burger King restaurant to deliver their burgers in the fastest possible time.
The winner is decided by a panel of the fast food chain’s top employees.
Meanwhile, comedian Jayde Adams goes behind the scenes at Burger King factories to reveal the real process behind the notorious burger.
Hopefully she’ll have it her way…
COMEDY DEFENDING THE GUILTY
BBC2, 10pm
THERE are plenty of laughs from this episode of the legal comedy as the trainee barristers must take part in a mock trial, with witnesses played by professional actors.
Liam (Hugh Coles) and Danielle (Gwyneth Keyworth) are on form, spending time with the actors to plan their case. But Liam finds it troublesome to separate reality from fiction.
Watch out for Daniel Rigby, hilarious as a very serious fake suspect, who gets cross when the lawyers “break scene”.
Meanwhile, Will (Will Sharpe) is having a tough time with his conscience, having found himself dating two women. When his girlfriend cross-examines him about staying in a spa hotel while away with work – even though he claimed to be in a Travelodge – Will’s defence skills suddenly spring into action.
It’s just a shame that as his lawyer-ing seems to improve, his character seems to be on the downward spiral.
No doubt his cynical teacher Caroline (Katherine Parkinson) will approve.
