The Swing Bridge, Newcastle Quayside will be closed overnight for maintenance works until Monday October 21. The closures are expected to be in place between 10pm and 6am. Go North East service 58A will operate normal route from Gateshead towards Newcastle via Baltic and The Sage, but then divert via Oakwellgate, Tyne Bridge, Swan House roundabout and Pilgrim Street to normal route. Passengers are advised that these buses will be unable to serve Newcastle Quayside or Dean Street after 10pm.

BY METRO

Tomorrow, no trains will run between Benton and Monkseaton until about 6.15pm to allow for vegetation work. During the work a replacement bus service, number 900 will be calling at or close to all stations between Four Lane Ends and Monkseaton.

BY TRAIN

Engineering work is taking place at various locations on the TransPennine Express route, closing some lines. Monday to Thursday: The 22:00 Newcastle to Manchester Airport service will not call at Manchester Victoria. Tuesday to Friday: The 04:22 Manchester Airport to Newcastle service will depart Manchester Piccadilly 10 minutes later than normal at 0446. The 05:03 Manchester Airport to Newcastle service will not call at Manchester Oxford Road or Manchester Victoria. This train will depart Manchester Piccadilly 5 minutes later than normal at 05:22.
