Blyth go to Town with early strikes
THREE early goals from Premier Division high-fliers Blyth Town had their Development Division hosts Wideopen A on the back foot from the off in their secondround clash.
Mason Stephenson, Sam Watts and Shaun Gibson all netted within the opening six minutes.
The Development Division side’s rearguard action paid off for the majority of the tie as no further goals were scored until the closing minutes,
The visitors then struck twice more, Tom Green and Adam Johnson both finding the back of the net.
Max Anderson registered a customary hat-trick for Red Row Welfare as they avoided a potential banana-skin when defeating Development Division visitors Newcastle Blue Star Reserves 6-1.

There was a hat-trick from Gosforth Bohemians’ Callum Bannister as they triumphed 5-1 at Lowick, Andy Smith and Dan Ure also scoring and Nicol McPherson replying.
Five goals were registered in the game between Newcastle Chemfica Amateurs and Newcastle East End, the visitors edging it 3-2 with counters from Ryan Attwood, Connor Higgins and Mark Milne.
Liam Mulligan and Phil Redpath netted in response.
Burradon’s game at home to Swalwell went to penalties after the two sides shared six goals, the hosts finally edging the shoot-out 7-6.
During the 90 minutes Kai Slinn and Harry Poole had given Burradon a two-goal advantage inside 12 minutes.
Gabriel Klempar pulled one back on 20 minutes before Lee Isbister gave the hosts a 3-1 interval lead .
Matthew Miller nicked an early, second-half brace to force the additional period - and ultimately penalties.
Premier Division Winlaton Vulcans squeezed past their Development Division hosts North Sunderland 3-0. Kieran Barker and David Fitzpatrick had them 2-0 up at the interval, Derek Waters adding the third.
