BELLE Vue opened up a six-point gap at the top of the Premier Division thanks to their 2-1 win against nearest rivals Whickham Coachman.

Goals from John Dewhurst and Scott Heslop won the game for Belle Vue, The Coachies’ reply coming from Christophe­r Keenan.

Stormont Main went nap with a 5-0 result at Thomas Wilson.

Sam Fraser bagged a brace with James Turnbull, Bri Allen and Joe Joyce also on target.

There was a ten-goal clash between Birtley The Hanlon and A1 Allerdene, the Birtley side running out 6-4 winners.

Adam Berry hit a hat-trick for The Hanlon alongside a penalty from Callum Turnbull, a strike from

Michael Crossman and a header from Alex Turnbull.

Two goals from Martin Summersatt, one from Chris Hewitt and an own goal were in vain for Allerdene.

It was the perfect ten for Greenside in Division One.

They maintained their 100% winning start to the season with a hardfought 2-1 at Leam Rangers.

Leam opened the scoring through Scott Watson early in the first half and held on until ten minutes from time, when two goals from Liam Thear secured the match for Greenside.

Whickham Bay Horse moved up to second place following their 5-1 triumph over Dougie’s Tavern.

Two goals from Ryan Cowan and one each from Sam Archer, Mark Cooper and Kane Swaddle took the points. The Tavern’s counter came from James Bramwell.

Highwayman were also 5-1 winners against Tudor Rose.

Highwayman’s five different marksmen were Kenny Johnson, Dan Wallace, Eddie Liddle, Kallum Broadhead and Micky Alcock.

It was a point each for Nursery House and Shakespear­e as they played out a 0-0 draw.
