PREMIER Division leaders St Chads recorded a 9-1 win over Matfen Senators thanks to Chris Blake and Dave Bissett, who both won three games, and Paul Baines who won two.

The consolatio­n point for Matfen came from an Alex Holliday win over Paul Baines in a close clash which went to the fifth end.

The NECA A team of Martin Schapira, Lee Tinkler and David Byers proved too strong for their Old England Jacks opponents as they prevailed 10-0.

■■IN Division One there was a 7-3 success for Cramlingto­n Tigers over Ouston A.

Jimmy Scope was again player of the match, winning three games, with Lynsey Storey prevailing in two and Pete Wilkinson in one.

Mitford came out on top in a close 6-4 success over Newton A.

Newcastle University continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 7-3 result against bottom-placed Brandon Anacondas.

Jeremy Hamshaw was player of the match for the university team, winning his three games.

Prudhoe B registered an 8-2 victory over NECA B.

Maurice Cheek and Jordan Dove both claimed their three games for Prudhoe, Ryan Campbell prevailing twice.

Top of the table Tyneside TTC A sealed a 6-4 result over Matfen Centurions thanks to Mark Kimberley with three wins, Mark Patterson with two and Rob Lawson with one.

■■IN Division Two, Old England Crocks triumphed 9-1 win over bottom-placed Ouston C.

Alan Atkinson and Barry Matthews both won three games for Old England, Nigel Coe triumphing twice.

In an all-Cramlingto­n game the Swifts team came out on top against the Trojans 8-2.

Swifts’ Richard Williamson was player of the match, winning three games, with Anthony Doyle and Phil Teah-Smith both victorious twice.

In the clash between Tyneside TTC B and Cramlingto­n Spartans, TTC B came out on top 6-4.

The Cramlingto­n team had taken a 4-3 lead but Tyneside nabbed the last three singles games to secure the match.

The fixture between Cramlingto­n Reivers and Matfen Tribunes ended in a 5-5 draw.
