Bowen not letting transfer talk sway him from task in hand

-

JARROD Bowen has addressed Newcastle United transfer speculation and his Hull City future.

Bowen is being monitored by the Magpies, who are one of a number of Premier League clubs keen on the highly rated Tigers forward. He has scored in four consecutive matches and is being watched by a host of top-flight scouts.

Hull want to protect their asset and even though they have an option to extend his contract – which expires at the end of the season – for another year, they’re keen to tie him down to a threeyear deal, with a new deal on the table.

But a diplomatic Bowen played a straight bat to that talk in an interview with the Hull Daily Mail.

“I try not to let anything distract me,” he said. “My focus is all on the pitch and I know I have people around me who do my work off the pitch. I put my trust in them and let them do that and hopefully they put their trust into me with what I do on the pitch.

“The offer’s obviously been made but my agents always keep everything away from me.

“They don’t want it to play on my mind because the way I am at the minute they want me to continue in this form, especially where we are in the league and the results that we’ve had.

“I let them take care of that and then we’ll go into the international break, speak about it and see where we go from there.”

United aren’t the only team that have been linked with Bowen. Spurs have also been credited with an interest and the summer saw plenty of speculation about his future, which Bowen admits was a distraction.

He said: “There was obviously talk and a lot of talks but no official bids. I have people off the pitch who deal with that and I just try to turn that negative into a positive.

“When you come off the back of two seasons scoring 35 or 36 goals, you kind of expect a bit more of talk and I think that’s just natural because of what I’ve done on the pitch for two seasons.”
