Eco-cops help the environment

-

an easy thing to stop so I believe we should make new habits that are helpful and stop littering.

How do we help, apart from not dumping plastic?

We all need to recycle more in our homes and schools and ask our Government to make sure that our plastic waste is not sent abroad.

If we all recycled, would the Earth be a better place to live in?

Definitely. The world would be cleaner too.

Why do we harm the animals in this way? I feel it is because people do not think properly about what they are doing with their waste. We all need to take care and think, then take responsibility for what we are doing.

Does plastic pollution harm us, the earth and all of the animals in it?

Yes it does. Not only are our rivers and oceans being polluted but we put plastic in our general waste bins. This ends up in landfill and is buried in the ground. This then becomes part of our Earth for many years to come.

WHAT ARE ECO-COPS?

Eco-cops are chosen students of our school that make changes here at school so that we become more environmentally friendly. We started off by putting paper recycling bins in every classroom in our school. There is a label on the bin to say what you can put in it.

WHAT WE DO

Our job is to make sure that we try not to waste energy or other materials such as plastic. Instead we ask everyone to reuse their plastic as this will help protect our Earth. We are also making compost in order to grow more plants including fruit and vegetables.

WHY ARE THERE ECO-COPS?

The whole school have watched pollution videos recently and believe the plastic that is harming animals on land and in water might be our plastic as well. So in order to save them, we have been choosing a few students to be our Eco-cops for a whole year and have started to think of ways to help reduce harm to the Earth.
