NECA prove too strong for Senators

NECA A claimed a 10-0 win over Matfen Senators in the Northumbri­a League’s Premer Division - the NECA team of Adam Webster, Lee Tinkler and David Byers proving too strong.

Cramlingto­n Casuals secured a 7-3 victory over Mount A, Duncan Wraight player of the match for Cramlingto­n in winning his three games.

He was supported by Iain Wood and Gareth Pearson, who both celebrated two successes.

In the game between Mount C and Mount B, the C team came out on top 6-4.

Bailey Pye was player of the match for the B team, claiming three games, and was supported by Dave Cutler and Rod Roberts who won one match each.

Prudhoe A overcame Cramlingto­n Stingers 6-4 - Mark O’Connor winning three games for Prudhoe and Andrew Firth two.

■■WITH Newcastle University not playing, Tyneside A took the opportunit­y to move back into top spot in Division One with a 6-4 success over Ouston A.

The Tyneside points came from two wins for Mark Kimberley, two for Rob Lawson and one for Mark Patterson - Kimberley and Patterson combining to triumph in the doubles.

Ouston’s Neil Wilkinson won three games but ended up on the losing side.

Newton A saw off Brandon Anacondas 8-2 to climb into third place.

Graeme Bell was player of the match for Newton, winning three games with two victories apiece for John Russell and David Lucas.

Matfen Centurions prevailed in both of their fixtures.

First came a 7-3 verdict at Brandon Anacondas, followed by a 6-4 home result against Mitford.

Chris Kilsby came through three matches against Brandon and two against Mitford unbeaten.

Newton played a second game but unfortunat­ely could not repeat their performanc­e from the first - suffering a 6-4 loss. ■■IN Division Two, Mount E went back to top after an 8-2 victory over Matfen Tribunes.

Alan Livingston­e and Charlie Mouzon both won their three games and Michael Hope two.

Cramlingto­n Trojans and Cramlingto­n Falcons played out a 5-5 draw.
