Until Friday, 27 December, Blackett Street, Newcastle will be closed to facilitate the Christmas Markets. Some bus stops within the city centre will be unavailable and passengers will be required to use alternative stops for their journeys. During the closure Stagecoach services, 12, 32, 32A, 36, 39, 40, 62, 63, 71, 72, 87, 100, X63 and Nexus secured service 32A (Central Taxis) will operate with changes.

On Sunday 1 December no trains will run between Airport and South Gosforth all day to allow for track maintenance work. During the work a replacement bus service, number 900 will be calling at or close to all stations Airport to Four Lane Ends (via South Gosforth). The replacement bus continues to Four Lane Ends to turn and make the return journey to Airport. Trains will be running from South Gosforth towards St James (via Whitley Bay), South Shields and South Hylton.

BY TRAIN

Engineering work is taking place overnight between Manchester and Dewsbury, closing some lines. Monday to Thursday: The 22:00 Newcastle to Manchester Airport service will be diverted to terminate at Manchester Victoria at 00:37. It will not call at Huddersfield, but will call additionally at Brighouse. A replacement coach will run from Manchester Victoria to Manchester Airport via Manchester Piccadilly. A separate coach will run from Huddersfield (departing at 23:30) to Brighouse to connect with the train and then return to Huddersfield connecting off the train.
