STRING THE FAMILY ALONG

-

THESE four mini garlands are easy to make and are the perfect size for decorating little trees or even pot plants.

CANDY CANE SPRING

You will need:

Craft ribbon in festive colours Scissors

Glue

METHOD

1. Cut two strips of ribbon measuring approximately 30cm.

2. Glue these at one end at right angles to each other (see picture 1).

3. Fold the bottom strip over the top strip (see picture 2) and repeat until your strips are all folded. Glue the end.

4. Make more springs and join them together to make your garland longer if you wish.

STRING OF SNOWMEN

You will need: White pompom trim Googly eyes Marker pen Scissors

Glue

METHOD

1. Take a length of pompom trim (available in haberdashery shops) twice as long as you would like your garland to be. Find the midpoint and cut it so you have two pieces the same length.

2. Snip off the pompoms from one length and glue or stitch them to the pompoms on the other length to make your snowman bodies.

3. Use a marker pen to draw buttons and glue on some googly eyes.

PAPER CHAIN

You will need:

Paper or thin card in festive colours

METHOD

1. Cut some strips of paper in different colours.

2. Take the first strip of paper and glue to make a loop. Thread the next strip through the loop and glue to start your chain. Continue adding loops until your chain is long enough.

HOLLY GARLAND
