Covid-19 blame lies with China

-

WHETHER or not coronavirus began in a wet market or a lab, the truth of the matter is that it began in China and has spread throughout the entire world. For once I agree with Donald Trump when he says it’s a Chinese disease.

It has taken the lives of thousands of people. It has cost the health services of every country billions of pounds in obtaining PPE – not to mention the impact it has had on the economy.

Businesses have had to obtain signage about social distancing while reducing the number of customers allowed in at any one time and have closed and may never open again.

So why are world leaders, including the World Health Organisation, so reluctant to insist that China allow a full investigation into the cause of this outbreak?

It was reported last week that Australia demanded an inquiry into the outbreak and China said it was a ‘dangerous move’ and that they would stop students and others visiting Australia. Surely the shoe should be on the other foot and every country in the world should be telling China that they are no longer welcome unless this inquiry takes place.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a well-planned move by China to buy international businesses at rock bottom prices. We have evidence that the Chinese have been economical with the truth by saying that there have been no cases of coronavirus in Bejing. If you believe that you also believe the world must be flat.

Over the years many countries have traded with China because they were able to undercut everyone else. If this virus has done one thing it should prove to us all that being solely reliant on another country is a ticket to disaster. Irene Davidson,
