Northern Alliance hopes to kick off new season with 64 teams

-

THE Bay Plastics Northern Alliance League will feature 64 sides on its hoped-for re-start of August 8 – government and FA guidelines permitting.

When the 2019-20 campaign was cut short early by the coronavrus pandemic in mid-March, Newcastle Blue Star led the Bay Plastics Premier Division by a point from AFC New Fordley.

In the Reeves Independent Division One, Hebburn Town Under-23s fronted Prudhoe Youth Club Seniors by two points.

In the Team Valley Carpets Division Two, Haltwhistle Jubilee were in top spot and held a fourgame advantage on Newcastle East End and Willington Quay Saints.

The renamed Bluefin Sports Insuranced Division Three saw longtime leaders Ponteland United Reserves with a nine-point advantage over their rivals.

There is still an outside possibility of the 2019-20 cup finals being played prior to the start of the new season, while dates have yet to be agreed for the 2020-21 competitons.
