Home baking school

-

WE’VE all been spending more time in the kitchen during lockdown and now the Waitrose & Partners Cookery School is launching a series of virtual cooking classes for children to help further inspire a love of food, provide a chance to learn new skills and help keep mini chefs entertained during the summer holidays.

Each week, chefs from the school will teach a range of new techniques – from pastry making to safe, basic knife skills – and talk about different ingredients and seasonality while creating great recipes to share at home.

Every virtual class will be limited to a maximum of eight households to ensure everyone gets lots of interaction with the experts. And, taking place from Tuesday – Thursday at 10am for one hour throughout the summer holidays, chefs will teach a different recipe each week.

First up is sausage rolls – a favourite for all the family and perfect for summer picnics. Kirsty Scott from the Waitrose & Partners Cookery School says: “We are looking forward to joining families in their own kitchens and helping teach the next generation new skills. Our online Waitrose & Partners Cookery School courses have been incredibly popular through lockdown, so we’re thrilled to be opening these up to children as well.”

A full list of ingredients and equipment will be shared on sign up to ensure everyone has everything they need to create the recipe.

Each course costs £10 per household. To book visit experiences. waitrose. com
