Fox resigns from role as director

-

NEIL Fox has resigned from his role as Sunderland director.

Donald’s right-hand man is no longer a director of Sunderland Limited, the company which owns the freehold of the Stadium of Light.

He has also resigned as a director of the club and several other associated companies – 1879 Events Management, Sunderland Ladies, SunderlandAFC.com, SAFC.com, and Sunderland Properties – all effective as of December 31, 2020.

Fox was appointed as a director in September 2018, having spent the summer working several days each week on the financial restructure of the club.

He is also a director of several other companies along with Donald, including Bridle Insurance.

Fox’s departure is another sign that Kyril Louis-Dreyfus’ takeover is close to going through.

FORMER Sunderland manager Phil Parkinson is among the favourites to take over at Port Vale.

Valiants manager John Askey was sacked on Monday after taking just six points from 12 games. The Vale have fallen out of play-off contention and are now just five points above the relegation zone.

Former England international Emile Heskey, who has no managerial experience, is the favourite to take over from Askey.

Ex-Black Cats manager, Simon Grayson is another name being linked with the vacant managerial position.

WIGAN’S prospective takeover is off after the Spanish bidder reduced their offer by almost 50%.

A bid was accepted by the club in September but the process had dragged on and, yesterday morning, the club announced the deal has collapsed.

Wigan have been in administration since the start of July, when a 12-point deduction saw them relegated to League One. The Latics currently sit in the relegation zone in 22nd place, two points from safety.

PETERBOROUGH owner Darragh MacAnthony has hit out at an agent after a player handed in a transfer request.

Rumours emerged that winger Siriki Dembele has asked to leave the club, provoking a furious response from the Posh owner.

MacAnthony wrote on Instagram: “This is just an agent playing games. This is what they do. Unfortunately, players always go for it and I don’t know why they do.”
