MUST-SEE SHOWS
PAUL SINHA’S TV SHOWDOWN
Tonight, ITV, 10pm
USUALLY, Paul Sinha is the man answering the questions – he found fame as one of the resident experts on The Chase and has also recently appeared on the primetime spin-off Beat the Chasers.
Now though, he’s going to be asking them as he hosts this brand new TV-themed comedy quiz show.
But while the contestants may be used to appearing on the small screen, how much do they actually know about it?
We’ll soon find out as Team captains Fay Ripley and Rob Beckett are joined by celebrity guests Denise van Outen, Adil Ray, Catherine Tyldesley and Josh Widdicombe.
THE GREAT POTTERY THROW DOWN
Tomorrow, Channel 4, 7.45pm
IT’S almost a case of ‘all change’ over in Stoke-on-Trent when the fourth series of this gently satisfying craft-based competition gets under way. That’s because host Melanie Sykes is bowing out to be replaced by Siobhan McSweeney, who’s perhaps best known for playing the formidable Sister
Michael in hit sitcom Derry Girls, while judge Sue Pryke isn’t returning either. Instead, her place is being taken by Richard Miller; regular viewers are already aware of him – he’s appeared in every run so far as the resident kiln expert.
However, one man remains steady and true – potter and ceramics designer Keith Brymer Jones, who bursts into tears whenever a competitor turns out something he finds particularly impressive.
BRADLEY & BARNEY WALSH: BREAKING DAD
Monday, ITV, 8pm
THE father-and-son team are in Germany this week, so expect beer-drinking and lederhosenwearing aplenty.
They begin in Frankfurt where, against his better judgement, Bradley agrees to abseil down the side of a building – facing forwards. Sampling the wares at a bratwurst-themed hotel is a far tastier prospect before the duo tackle the Bavarian tradition of finger wrestling.
SOUTH AFRICA WITH GREGG WALLACE
Tuesday, ITV, regions vary
IN this week’s episode, the MasterChef judge is visiting Cape Town, the place South Africans affectionately refer to as the ‘mother city’.
After taking a cable car ride up Table Mountain, Gregg finds out how the aerial transport system is cleverly used to send water up the mountain. He then risks life
and limb by using a scooter to go down Signal Hill into Bo Kaap, where he explores the spice markets of the historic Malay community. The foodie then goes on a wine tram through the picturesque town of Franschhoek, where vines have been grown for 350 years.

HADRIAN’S WALL WITH ROBSON GREEN
Thursday, Channel 5, 9pm
LAST year, a lot of us rediscovered our love of walking, whether it was because we wanted to reconnect with nature and rediscover the beauty around us or it was the only way to get out of the house during lockdown.
Robson Green hikes along one
of Britain’s most impressive archaeological monuments – Hadrian’s Wall.
It’s the longest Roman site in the world, running 73 miles from Wallsend in the east to the isolated Cumbrian village of Bowness in the west.
