A FORMER Geordie Shore star has swapped downing shots for dropping beats after signing a record deal and teaming up with a Newcastle producer to release a single which has already received airplay on Capital.

Ricci Guarnaccio, who joined the cast of the MTV show in 2011 and went onto get engaged to co-star and famous ex Vicky Pattison as the cameras rolled, has just launched single Ride With Me, a collaboration with Newcastle producer Josh Goodwill.

Featuring the vocals of New Zealand-based singer and former Australian Idol finalist Emily Williams, the song was released last week and has already received airplay on recently-launched radio station Capital Dance.

Gearing up to its release on Instagram, Durham-born star Ricci posted: “Super excited for my track ‘Ride With

Me’ to be officially released! Let’s goooo.”

Ricci has released under the guise of Ricci G after signing a deal with Love or Another Records. The label were just as excited about the single launch as him, posting: “The wait is over... ‘Ride With Me’ has officially landed and we here at Love & Other are so excited to share it.” Ride With Me was given its first radio play on Friday evening by Mista Jam on his Capital show Fresh Beats Friday, with Ricci explaining that the story behind it was one of self discovery, “about meeting different people and finally finding that one to take on a ride with you”.

Josh told Mista Jam: “It’s one to play when you’re getting ready for a night out, working out or just cleaning around the house.” Ricci added: “It’s a feel-good track with all those party vibes. To enjoy it to the fullest, you’ve got to turn it up and live your best life.”

The lads have the firm backing of Ricci’s former Geordie Shore co-star Jay Gardner, who Ricci opened Sunderland nightspot Attico/Verve with in 2015. He took to Instagram to say: “Ricci G and Josh Goodwill are taking over!”
