‘My son will need his first passport’

Zahra Faqir, 26, a researcher based in Aberdeen, and her husband Rizwan are looking forward to their first holiday as a new family when the time is right.

“I had my baby Awais during lockdown, so we’ve never travelled before as a family. Therefore I would be looking for somewhere that is close by but baby-friendly, like Spain or the South of France.

“I’ve always been a history kid and took my love for it to university too, so I love a city that has an Old Town portion to it, like Prague or Salzburg. I also love trying new cuisines and generally immersing myself within the culture of the country or city.

“I check my passport every time my husband gets his out to go to work (he works offshore) and much to my dismay I still have a few years on it – and therefore I’m stuck with the picture I have!

“I’ll then nag him to make sure he actually does have all the paperwork since he left his passport at home once!”
